Greens from the Union Square farmers market
Ok folks, this post is simply a teaser. Not a 'full' post featuring one particular restaurant of any kind, but wanted to share some photos of oh maybe 40% of what I've eaten so far in a month? Yes, I've went up a size in pants I think (thank goodness for leggings!), can feel the double chin forming, and having a hard time zipping up my winter coat. Let me tell you, even with all the walking that I do here in NY, I think I need to add another form of exercise to maintain my eating habits, haha. No joke. Well, a girls gotta do her 'due diligence' with food research right?
I've had some amazing meals with good friends showing me around town so far. Trying to figure out if it's a good thing that I have friends that love food more than me, or if this will only increase the sensitivity of my palate so that I will have zero tolerance to anything bad. Well, I'm blessed either way~
Note-no Korean restaurants are featured on this post as I would like to feature them one by one...I won't let you wait too long~
Fresh & Beautiful produce from Union Square farmers market!
To the left: Chinese hot pot from 'Little Pepper Hot Pot' in Flushing to the left-thank you David & Elspeth for taking me to the great spot!
To the right: Zach and Chrissa from 'Riverpark Farm,' smiling @ Union Square farmers market! The two masterminds behind the amazing urban Riverpark Farm!
Ceasar's salad and Uni linguini pasta from 'Basta Pasta.' Had lunch with Hana Choi here, and we both ordered the same thing because her words 'I want my own uni pasta, it's just that good!' haha.
The Parmesan wheel at 'Basta Pasta' and 'Bar Jamon' to the right. Bar Jamon just has to be one of the best Spanish tapas in the city! Thanks to Nicole & Karina for taking me here on my birthday, loving how my co-workers are all about food~
One and only Doughnut Plant...only Hana Choi will order 5 for the 2 of us. Post Basta Pasta lunch.
Yuzu hot pepper sauce from 'Hakata Ton Ton' in West Village. This yuzu sauce is pretty insane!
Tuna yukke & pig's feet Japanese hot pot from 'Hakata Ton Ton'. First thing my friend Jason said as soon as we sat down at Hakata 'if you don't like this place, we will need to re-evaluate our friendship.' Let's just say, there was no re-evaluation. Would go back there in a heartbeat!
Napa cabbage with pears & cheese fondue from 'Dovetail' to the left; Crab toast with lemon aioli from 'ABC Kitchen' to the right. Dined at Dovetail with Chef Jungsik Yim from Jung Sik Dang NY, and both of us were not huge fans. Although the desserts were pretty good, the menu in general was a bit on the heavier side. ABC Kitchen is the perfect spot to have brunch with girlfriends~
Spicy pork ramen from 'Totto' to the left; Raw beef & uni appetizer from 'Takashi' to the right.
*My thoughts about Takashi-really good but I would definitely get the uni/raw beef specialty, then hop over to Korea town for proper tableside bbq. Just better value.
