chinese dragons at the night noodle market
Last night, we went to the 'Night Noodle Markets', an authentic Asian hawker market held over 2 weeks in Hyde Park-in downtown Sydney. I was expecting mostly noodle stands, but they had everything! The food and prices were great, although the lines were a bit crazy. But lucky me, they had a special 'VIP' section for citibank cardholders...thus this was our ticket to a nice section with tables, and no lines at the bar! Not to mention the unlimited FERRERO ROCHER DARK CHOCOLATES that they were giving away as they are promoting them all month! I've had so many of those, I'm already addicted. I think we all downed 5 each, and took a few extra in our pockets for our trip home :)
The park was completely crowded by 6pm (event started at 5), and they even cut off food sections to control the crowds at one point. At this event, I felt like I was in Seoul or Hong Kong...I had to remind myself I'm in Australasia!!! The nice thing about the noodle mkt, compared to Taste of Chicago or other food fests that I have been to in Chicago, people were sitting down, enjoying a glass of wine, and just having fun. The 'shoulder to shoulder' food fests is just not attractive anymore, no matter how good the food could be! The area we were sitting in, definitely felt like a restaurant in the middle of the park! The weather was perfect...entertainment was fabulous...and the company was a riot! Thanks guys for making my first 'noodle mkt experience' amazing!
yum!!!
nicole, dave, and kristi...nice photo!
dave and kristi having a serious conversation...about design? boot camp? while nicole and i were discussing black eyed peas...hahahaha~!
there were kids under these dragons, amazing!!!
the 'VIP' section felt like first class on a flight...quite nice!
